Name: Vincent Valentine
Age: 60, but looks to be in his mid-twenties.
Fandom: Final Fantasy VII
Race: Altered human
Occupation: Freelancer, WRO operative
Weapons: Triple-barrel revolver called "Cerberus"
Cabin Assigned: C3
Appearance: Vincent is tall and lean, thin enough to look deceptively frail. His hair is long, black, and usually a few days over due for brushing. It's kept mostly out of his eyes by a wide, red headband that matches his cloak and mantle. Beneath the tattered crimson cloak is an outfit of all black, which has far too many buckles to be convenient.
Vincent is rarely seen without his gold gauntlet on his left hand and forearm, and matching it are similar coverings for his boots. Overall, Vincent looks a bit on the dark and creepy side. One look into his deep red eyes makes it clear that there are many layers to this man that none may ever see.

Personality: Vincent isn't the talkative type, at least to most people. Rarely going out of his way to make or keep in touch with friends, Vincent prefers being alone much of the time. Although he isn't as self-loathing as times past, old habits often put him in favor of solitude, unless there is a need for him. This makes him seem uncaring, but Vincent actually cares very much about the few people he deems friends. His lack of outward emotion helps to cover up the fact that he is somewhat shy and is not good at social interaction. Even so, it's not beyond him to show hints of annoyance, humor, and affection on rare occasion.
Vincent is always calm, cool, and in control. Well, that is when he is entirely himself. Be aware that – although his fuse is long and hard to light – there is a great danger in making him genuinely angry. Behind that cool, placid expression is the stuff of nightmares, should one dig too deep.
History: In his mid-twenties, Vincent was a Turk assigned to monitor the Jenova Project. He fell in love with Lucrecia, one of the scientists working on the project. She appeared to return his feelings until he discovered that she was connected to his father's death. She fled from Vincent, thinking that the death of his father (who had been her mentor and fellow scientist) was her fault and they could not be happy together as a result. Instead, she turned to Hojo, the senior scientist in the project. Though hurt, Vincent believed she was doing what made her happy and did not try to stop her.
Lucrecia became pregnant. Hojo convinced her to allow him to inject the fetus with Jenova cells, at which point Vincent spoke his opposition. Lucrecia proceeded with the experiment anyway, even as she became sick as a result. When Vincent confronted Hojo, the latter shot him and used his nearly dead body in human enhancement experiments. Though Vincent was made stronger, his body was too far gone. To save him, Lucrecia infused Vincent with Chaos, a powerful entity she had been researching. It kept him alive, but Vincent could not control the essence of the creature. To fix this, Lucrecia added the Protomateria, a device created by the planet itself to harness Chaos. Shortly after, she gave birth to Sephiroth and locked herself away, crystallized in mako.
Vincent awoke as a monster, enraged and grief-stricken, eventually taking the blame for Lucrecia's condition on himself. He was sealed in a coffin by Hojo, where he remained of his own will, sleeping and reliving his nightmares and sins for 30 years. In Final Fantasy VII he agreed to help Cloud and the others stop Sephiroth if it gave him an opportunity for revenge against Hojo. They succeeded, and for two years Vincent traveled and helped where he could, always thinking he needed to atone for letting things happen the way they did.
He joined the heroes again when the Kadaj, Loz, and Yazoo revived the threat of Sephiroth, and yet again when Deepground surfaced. Through the events of Dirge of Cerberus, Vincent lost the Protomateria, and therefore control of Chaos. A program invented by Hojo to simulate his personality and wishes used the Deepground leader, Weiss, to summon Omega, which would take all life from the planet. Vincent regained control of Chaos and mastered him with the help of Shelke, who briefly took on the concerns of Lucrecia. Vincent destroyed the threat, and Chaos, the Protomateria, and Omega were absorbed back into the planet.
Through the events of the game, Vincent was able to accept that he was not entirely at fault, and finally felt forgiveness for his sins.
